We didn’t have a Monday post this week because of my midterm, but it was worth dedicating time to study, because I think I did really well. I don’t know my grade yet, but I was able to answer both essay questions and extra credit with no effort. I wrote 5 pages, and walked out of the class with confidence and hurting hands.

This is the outfit I wore Sunday for church. The weather was very pleasant in the morning, but it got cold in the afternoon. So I chose a trench coat to keep the wind away and elevate my look. This one is from a church sale from years and years past. Speaking of elevating the look, what are these boots? I’m so in love with my first pair of over the knee boots. They are so fun to dress up. This pair is from the online store Amiclubwear, that also sent me the cutest velvet shoes from the post Ladylike in Polka Dots, nude heels that I wore for the LA LA LAND: Guide to Los Angeles Movie Locations (Part 1) and these beautiful embroidered heels I posted on Instagram. All the shoes I received were well made and comfortable. Amiclubwear shoes also have great prices.

Over the Knee boots (OTK) can be elegant and warm. But it is important to be aware of when and where you want to wear them, since OTK boots can be somewhat sensual, (maybe because of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman) you have to take some things into consideration:

To keep the discretion and still maintain the modern edge of the style, pair your boots with dark jeans or dark tights.

For the girls who are shorter or a little over-weight, the discretion tip is the best one. The dark line from your hips to your toes will slim your silhouette, creating the illusion that you are taller and slimmer.

For the girls who are taller or have slimmer legs, it is okay to show some skin when pairing the boots with a skirt or dress, but keep it classy. Don’t wear a skirt that is too short or too tight. Loose and A-line style skirts are more complementary with OTK boots.
