Wedding Anniversary in Cambria

Hello Everyone,

I hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is having a great time with family and friends this holiday. This Friday, November 24th, my husband and I celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary! I can’t believe how fast time goes by! This year we celebrated a little early with a romantic getaway to Cambria.

Cambria is a charming little town on the California coast. It is the perfect getaway for couples who are looking for a quiet and beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature. Our hotel was right in front of the beach and we enjoyed our morning walks at the Moonstone boardwalk overlooking Cambria’s dramatic coast line.

It rained on and off during the weekend of our stay,  but we enjoyed the cozy weather in our cabin at the Oceanpoint Ranch. We checked in on Friday night, and were greeted by the friendly staff who directed us to our room, the Lone Star Cabin,  one of the most comfortable and cozy places I ever stayed at, with a bold ranch inspired design, clawfoot bathtub, and fireplace. Everyday we got a little stack of wood to burn. The staff also gifted us with a bottle of wine, s’mores kit and leather cover journal.

On Saturday morning we headed out for the hotel continental breakfast, and with coffee in hand we ventured for a walk around the hotel’s private beach trail, the boardwalk, and some of the nine seaside acres of our hotel.  Around noon it started raining again and we headed to town for lunch at Lynn’s Restaurant and enjoyed their famous olallieberry pie. Olallieberry is a mix of blackberry and raspberry, and it was invented in 1949. Afterwards we visited some of the antique shops on Main street.

Back at the Oceanpoint Ranch, Ben tried to teach me how to play chess and when the sun finally came out we got to enjoy some of the hotel’s lawn games, such as cornhole, horseshoes, and croquet. In the evening we made s’mores and enjoyed another relaxing evening by the fire. On Sunday we repeated our Saturday morning routine and made our way back home.

Ben and I love weekend trips and we love to explore the new places we visit. This weekend however, we decided to unwind and enjoy the place we were at. We even postponed our visit to Hearst Castle, which is only a few minutes away from Cambria. But I’m so glad we did it! Morning walks at the beach, cozying up by the fire, and quality time with my husband was everything I could wish for on an anniversary trip. Thank you Oceanpoint Ranch for the complimentary stay.

Ps: Dear Ben, tomorrow is our fourth wedding anniversary and I couldn’t be happier to be your wife! Thank you for the amazing four years, your support, and for being behind the camera lens for my blog! Debora Dahl wouldn’t exist without you! I love you more than words can say!
