The metallic trend is slowly taking over the streets. Since last year it is common to spot women, specially teenage girls wearing metallic purses or shoes. This year the metallic trend continues strong and it goes beyond the accessories. During the fashion weeks of 2017 we saw a lot of metallic in the runway and on the streets. Brands like Fendi and Dolce & Gabanna are betting high on the gold or silver tones. Dresses, skirts, pants, bikinis, you name it, metallic is the way to go.
I love how creative fashion is, but as much as I like new trends not everything goes with my style, which is more feminine and ladylike. For this reason I still had not invested in a metallic piece and I didn’t think I was going to. However, when I saw this mid pleated skirt at MakemeChic website I saw a lot of potential. When the skirt arrived I was even happier, because the skirt’s color tone is more graffiti, which is a lot more subtle than silver. It is great for me because I can wear it day and night and still get the little shimmer of glam from the metallic tone. On top of it, I absolutely love pleated pieces and they were also trending on this year’s fashion weeks.
To complete my outfit, I chose to wear a basic black tee tied up on the waist to keep it casual. For the shoes I wore these embroidered heels that I love from AMIClubwear. Embroidery is also a big 2017 trend. Unfortunately these heels are sold out, but I linked another pair that is very similar to mine at the end of the post. AMIClubwear also delivers all over the world.
See you next time!
